Originally made in the mid-1850’s by Anders Larsen Bakke, a Norwegian farmer and cheesemaker from the village of Våle, Norway, this Emmentaler look-a-like, is currently, made by TINE, a cooperative of Norwegian dairy farmers. A great snacking cheese and melter; enjoy in sandwiches, fondues, quiches or casseroles.
Taste: Mild, buttery, nutty and sweet.
Pairings: Riesling, Pinot Noir, Viognier.
Made with pasteurized cow's milk and traditional rennet.
