Made by Stella®, a northern Wisconsin company that was started when it hired a master cheesemaker from Italy 100 years ago, Fontinella® is an American original. “In Wisconsin, we make more flavors, varieties, and styles of cheese than anywhere else in the world . . . including originals like Colby, Muenster and Fontinella®”. Excellent melter; use in sauces, casseroles, and grilled sandwiches. Taste: Creamy; slightly sweet and sharp. Pairings: Beaujolais, Chianti, Pinot Noir; Amber Lager, Brown Ale; Port, Whiskey. Made with pasteurized cow's milk and microbial rennet.
