Made just NE of Lake Geneva in West Switzerland, Gruyere is washed regularly with a brine solution while maturing and is aged in natural caves. Use in grilled cheese sandwiches, gratins, sauces, or snacking.
Taste: Sweet and salty; nutty, caramel taste with notes of mushrooms, and earth; crunchy crystals.
Pairings: Champagne, Syrah, Zinfandel.
Made with pasteurized cow's milk and traditional rennet.
